Liz Metcalf has studied Sivananda Yoga in Nepal, Iyengar
Yoga at Swati and Rajiv Chanchani’s Center in India, Hatha yoga including a
teacher training course and Thai yoga massage in Kerela India, and more
recently Flow Yoga at the 8 Limbs Studio in Seattle. She describes her classes,
which combine elements from these various lineages, as “basically Hatha yoga
with some flow, combining chanting, pranayama, and other spiritual elements. I
personally like to practice yoga to connect with my body through the breath and
movement, stretch to release toxins and "open" up in ways that help
to balance the effects of my daily life and the physical work that I do, as
well as to build strength (especially core), and reeeelaaaaaaax. So my classes
incorporate and focus on these intentions."

Jan Wilson's interest in philosophy and psychology has
persisted since graduation from UCLA in 1983. She worked with a team at the
Krishnamurti Foundation in Ojai California which edited and proofread "The
Collected Works" and continues the study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and other
sacred texts. As an avid surfer and former dressage rider, the
path of yoga has been a natural progression.
Jan has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 14 years
and teaching since 2005. She completed the three year B.K.S. Iyengar Teacher
Training Program in 2009. The program was led by Senior Iyengar teacher,
Manouso Manos. Jan began working with Manouso in 2000 and continues to travel
as often as possible to study with him.
Thanks to the guidance and inspiration of Felicity
Green and the community of yoga teachers and students on Lopez, Jan is grateful
to be offering classes at Down Dog Studio.
